Matching and Cycle Process Overview

Egg Donor Search

The first step to being matched is choosing the right Egg Donor profile for you. Once you have selected a candidate you like, please reach out to your case manager with that profile. Your case manager will then contact your chosen candidate and verify that she is available and interested in moving forward with a match.

Confirmed Match

Once the match is confirmed, your first payment installment will be due. This payment will cover the following to get your cycle moving forward:

Professional Agency Fee
Escrow Account Management
Egg Donor Background Check
Egg Donor Psychological Evaluation
Genetic Counseling Evaluation
Travel Expenses / Miscellaneous
Upon payment completion, your Egg Donor will have a background check and will be scheduled for her psychological, genetic, and medical screenings. If travel is required, Omega Family Genetics will make arrangements to ensure your Egg Donor is stress-free and makes it to her appointments on time.

Medical Clearance

Omega Family Genetics will receive medical clearance from a psychologist and your IVF medical clinic usually within two weeks of your donor’s scheduled screening.

Upon receiving medical clearance, your Omega Family Genetics case manager will request your second and last payment installment which will cover the following to complete your egg donation cycle:

Egg Donor Compensation
Egg Donor Legal Contracts
Intended Parent(s) Legal Contracts
Egg Donor Health Insurance

Legal Contracts

Upon payment completion of your second installment, your case manager will send documentation to your attorney and your Egg Donor’s attorney for completion of your legal contracts.

Upon legal clearance, your Egg Donor will be able to follow her medication calendar accordingly to your IVF’s instructions and begin medications.

Medication Start Date

Your Egg Donor will begin medications as instructed by your IVF clinic. She will be required to notify her case manager once her first set of injections has been completed.

Ovarian Stimulation

For the next following days after the first set of injections, your Egg Donor will be required to attend monitoring appointments to ensure medication treatment is going accordingly to your doctor’s expectations. In some cases, if your Egg Donor is not local to your IVF clinic, she will be seen in a different clinic closer to her. This is a normal process for IVF clinics and results for blood-work and visits are sent within the same day for your doctor’s review and input on your donor’s cycle. “(If your Egg Donor does not live local to your IVF clinic, please note monitoring fees will be encountered.)”

Triggering Ovulation and Egg Retrieval

A day before your Egg Donor’s egg retrieval, she will be required to be local to your IVF clinic with a companion. You will be responsible for travel expenses for your Egg Donor and companion if needed. Your Egg Donor will have her “trigger injection” at the time requested by your IVF physician. The following day, your Egg Donor will complete your cycle with her egg retrieval. You will be notified by the professionals at your IVF clinic about the number of eggs retrieved from your Egg Donor.

In-vitro Fertilization and Embryo Culture

At this stage, your IVF professionals will create embryos, and your physicians will tell you how many embryos were created.

PGD/PGS

You will have the choice to PGD (Preimplantation genetic diagnosis) or PGS (Preimplantation genetic screening) your embryos to ensure they are chromosomally healthy. Your IVF professionals can provide you with more information on the benefits of such tests.
